The JAPAN STUDY SUPPORT Scholarships, administered by JPSS in partnership with the Asian Students Cultural Association and Benesse Corporation, are currently available for international students planning to enroll in Japanese universities. These scholarships aim to financially support students and foster cultural exchange.
To qualify for the JAPAN STUDY SUPPORT Scholarships:
– Applicants must be non-Japanese citizens accepted into an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a Japanese university starting in either spring (April/May) or autumn (September – November) 2024.
JPSS, managed jointly by the Asian Students Cultural Association and Benesse Corporation, serves as a comprehensive platform providing essential information for international students interested in studying in Japan. It offers details on universities, scholarships, and daily life in Japan to help students make informed decisions.
Application periods:
– Spring enrollment: April 1, 2024 (10:00 a.m. JST) to May 31, 2024 (5:00 p.m. JST)
– Fall enrollment: August 1, 2024 (10:00 a.m. JST) to October 31, 2024 (5:00 p.m. JST)
Eligible candidates must register on the JPSS website, have a “MY PAGE,” and have received a university message through the “JPSS Scout function” before acceptance. They must also be able to interview in either Japanese or English and have a Japanese bank account in their name.
Application involves submitting basic information, a short essay on “Motivation to Study in Japan & Future Goals,” and a self-introduction video. Selection includes document screening and interviews.
Successful applicants receive financial support of 500,000 yen for one recipient and 100,000 yen each for two recipients after enrollment. Recipients must fulfill their educational program requirements, submit reports periodically, and may need to attend JPSS events or interviews.
